Green Dirt Farm was established in 2002 in Northwest Missouri by founder Sarah Hoffmann, who left her career as a doctor to return to farming and craft fine sheep's milk cheeses. The farm is an Animal Welfare Approved dairy that focuses on humane and sustainable practices, including rigorous grazing management to build healthy soil and grow nutritious pasture. The business has expanded to include a retail store, café, restaurant, and agritourism, and its cheeses have earned over 90 awards from the artisan cheese community since 2008.
